In 1954, a gentleman by the name of Leonard Wedel (far left), Human Resources Director for the Baptist Sunday School Board, determined that the Board employees needed a credit union. Dr. James Sullivan, who served as president of the Sunday School Board at that time, worked with Mr. Wedel and several others to make this happen—and over 56 years later, we're still going strong!
When it opened its doors nearly 60 years ago, LifeWay Credit Union offered only savings accounts and loans. Today, we’re a full-service financial institution, offering a variety of loan and savings services, along with all the convenience services such as online banking.

How do I join LifeWay Credit Union?
What is a credit union?
A credit union is a cooperative financial institution, owned and controlled by the people who use its services. These people are members. Credit unions serve groups that share something in common, such as where they work, live, or go to church.
Credit unions, like other financial institutions, are closely regulated. The National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, administered by the National Credit Union Administration, an agency of the federal government, insures deposits of credit union members up to $250,000.
How do non-employee members gain access to the LifeWay Credit Union building?
As a member, you can request a security card that can be scanned at the Credit Union entrance on 9th Avenue. You may also enter the building through the LifeWay Christian Resources Main Entrance, located at the corner of 9th Avenue and One LifeWay Plaza, where you would be issued a visitor’s card at the reception desk.
Where do I park when I visit and need receives an entrance card?
Metered street parking is available in front of the 9th Avenue entrance, or you may park at the LifeWay Christian Resources Main Entrance, located at the corner of 9th Avenue and One LifeWay Plaza.
What are your regular business hours?
Are you closed on holidays?
Does HR look at my statements or monitor my accounts?
